I do research on natural language processing. This includes algorithms that learn to read with minimal supervision, along with new applications that can benefit society. I am also interested in data-driven dialogue agents that safely and naturally converse on any topic. Before joining Georgia Tech, I received my Ph.D. from the University of Washington, did a postdoc in the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon, and was an Assistant/Associate professor in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at Ohio State. I am always looking for well-qualified students to work with on research related to NLP and Machine Learning. You can find information about our Ph.D. program here. For current Georgia Tech students interested in research: please email me with a copy of your resume and a concise, clear description of what you are hoping to achieve. |
